What is a PCR test?

The PCR test can detect minute amounts of genetic material in a sample. In this case, the PCR test detects if you are carrying SARS-CoV-2 virus genetic material. Ultimately, it is a diagnostic test to find out if you are carrying the virus.

What is a rapid PCR test?
Unlike the conventional PCR that analyses between 16 and 96 samples simultaneously, the rapid PCR test detects if you are carrying genetic material of the SARS-CoV-2 virus by analyzing one sample at a time. Therefore, it is a diagnostic test with the same reliability and sensitivity as a conventional PCR, but with the great advantage of being able to get results in just 35 minutes.
What is a rapid antigen test?

The rapid travel antigen test detects proteins found on the surface of the virus. The sensitivity of antigen tests is rather lower than for PCR tests.

What is a rapid antibody test?

The rapid antibody test is an immunoassay or serological test that allows you to know if you have antibodies against the SARS-CoV-2 (if you have had the illness).

How is the PCR test sample taken?

The PCR test for travel is performed through a nasopharyngeal and oropharyngeal swab (through the nose and mouth).

How is the rapid PCR test sample taken?
The rapid PCR test, like conventional PCR, is performed through a nasopharyngeal and oropharyngeal swab (through the nose and mouth).
How is the rapid antigen test sample taken?

Like the PCR test, the rapid travel antigen test is performed through a nasopharyngeal and oropharyngeal swab (through the nose and mouth).

How is the rapid antibody test sample taken?

The rapid antibody test is performed through a puncture in the fingertip.
